Good afternoon friends! I want to share with you about how do it yourself You can make convenient carrying for everyday work. For this we need the following materials and tools:

1. A network stranded wire 12 m long with a cross section of 1.5 mm2, a euro plug, two sockets, a small segment of 8 mm plywood, 15 * 10 cm in size, self-tapping screws, 16 and 31 mm long, two rails 5 * 40 * 2.5 in size cm, and 2.5 * 8 * 20 cm; two metal plates with a thickness of 1-2 mm and a width of 1 cm, the length of your choice, (I took -15 cm), and 10 cm of aluminum wire with a diameter of 3 mm.

2. Of the tools needed - hacksaws for wood and metal, drill, drill, screwdriver.

We assemble as follows:
Step 1. We assemble the extension cord itself, for this we fix with the help of self-tapping screws two sockets on the cut plywood. We connect a network cable to them, and on the other hand a network plug.

Step 2 We make a device for winding an extension cord.

We cut two metal plates of the indicated sizes with a hacksaw. In a vice we bend them in the shape of the letter “G”, in the lower part of each plate we drill two holes with a diameter of 4 mm, for their fastening to the rail. All this is shown in the photo. We attach plates to a long rail with screws


In the upper part of the rail we fasten the similarity of the ring in the form of the letter "P", this is necessary so that the extension cord can be hung on the wall.

Step 3 On the back of the rail we fasten a small rail, after sawing off its edges, as shown in the photo. She acts as a pen. At the bottom, on the side we fix the plywood with sockets.

We wind the wire on the resulting device.


Carrying ready.

When using the carrier, we unwind the required number of meters of wire and plug it into a 220v network. No need to unwind the entire length of the wire, as the sockets are mounted on a rail. Carrying is convenient in work, does not get confused underfoot, especially when working on the roof of the house. I'm quite happy. And whether you need this - decide for yourself. Plastic ones are such a penny that I bought a lot at once. I have 40,30,20 meters of KG 2x1.5 extension cords wound on these. There are also 50 and 30 meters from the KG 2x0.75. One 20 meters from PVA 3x4. Besides, on them, I also twisted ropes and twines ..
Lightweight, comfortable, cheap. You can’t do it yourself.
Only short ones (15.10.5 meters) are now arranged on welding coils (there is somewhere in the profile)
And by the way, I can’t stand it when there is something massive at the end of the extension cord. Usually I hang there a "rubber" outlet. And, in case you need a lot of tools, I made short (one meter) extension cords - splitters based on four-seater external sockets and 3x2.5 PVA

And by the way, for extenders I like KG more than PVA! Although it doesn’t get dubbed in winter ... Anyway, it’s more flexible (This is also shown in the title KG - “cable flexible”))).

Ohm's law, I know no worse than you. And I know what load can be connected to this extension cord. If you connect a 40 volt soldering iron, it is not necessary to unwind it to the end. And as for the homemade products - "very and so-so", then here you are mistaken. I have done so many of them in my life that you have never dreamed of. And they work to this day, not one has burned down yet.

If the "short" is in the area of ​​the extension cords, then there will be no complete short circuit - the resistance of the PVA wire, usually used to make such extension cords over a length of 12 m, will be 0.16 Ohm, plus the transition resistance in the socket where the extension cord is connected. The circuit breaker, if any, will not have time to turn off, the wire will burn out faster. And the fire is guaranteed.
