I propose to consider instructions for the manufacture of interesting bentwood lamps. The manufacturing process of the lamp:
Step one. Preparing a warming device
First of all, we will assemble a device that will heat wood. The device consists of a steam generator and a chamber in which the material is located. As a camera, a plumbing pipe with plugs is suitable, the author also installed a thermometer in it.
Step Two Material preparation
As the material, we select the boards of the thickness we need. Boards need to be cut into strips using a circular saw. Using a manual router, the author makes grooves in each workpiece, and an LED strip will fit into them.
Step Three Bend wood
You can steam and bend wood, the author using steam heated the wood in a chamber to a temperature of about 100 ° C. Further, the author tried to bend the blank on the template, which he made of plywood. The attempt was unsuccessful, the wood cracked. The thing is that in the process of bending, the wood has time to cool, and therefore breaks. Even soaking the material in water did not give the desired result.
The second attempt to bend the workpiece was already more successful, the author warmed up the tree in a film sleeve, and then immediately proceeded to bend the boards with the sleeve, the wood cools more slowly. Also, for bending a tree, the author made a special rolling device from skateboard wheels. Thanks to two such solutions, the author was able to easily bend wooden planks.
Step Four Impregnation
When the tree dries, it can be sanded to a smooth state and soaked. To make the wood look beautiful and natural, we impregnate it with oil, and lovers of gloss can use varnish.
Step Five Glass
Cut glass for fixtures. For such purposes, we need plexiglass, cut it into strips and adjust the width of the grooves. Next, the glass needs to be bent, for such purposes, heat it with a building hair dryer.
Step Six Assembly
We install LED strips inside the fixtures, not forgetting to drill holes in advance for the cable. Each such lamp will hang on steel cables, we fasten special clamps or hooks to the lamp. The other ends of the cables can be attached to the board, which will then be attached to the ceiling. We hang the lamps as you like.
In the end, everything can again be soaked in oil and now you can hang homemade. Everything looks interesting, modern, simple and tasteful.
