The process of making a table:
Step one. Countertop Making
First of all, we will make a tabletop, for this we will prepare the source material. We will need bars or thick boards, the material should be the same thickness, so the author drove him through the thicknesser.
Well, and then you need to assemble a wood slab, it can be glued with wood glue, and for greater reliability we use furniture dowels.
As soon as the wood board is ready, we arm ourselves. The author works as a compass machine, thereby forming the upper walls of the countertop. As a result, you will still need to select the wood in the inner part and finally cut the round countertop.
We cut off the excess, grind the countertop in a circle from the outside using a belt or disk grinder. From the inside, the plane can only be sanded with an orbital sander. That's all, half the battle is done, we have a countertop.
Step Two Support and legs
We make a support, it will also be fixture for legs. In the center of the structure is a triangle with specially cut grooves, which the author made using a milling cutter.Three blocks with the corresponding grooves at the ends go into the grooves of the triangle. As a result, the design resembles a star with three beams, it will be a simple and reliable support for the countertop.
We make legs for the table, there will be three of them. The author made the legs curved, this is achieved by grinding. In the legs we also make holes for the spikes with the chisel.
Step Three Impregnation and assembly
We impregnate all parts of the table with oil or cover with furniture wax. The tree now looks amazing, it will keep its appearance for a long time, and will not absorb moisture. It is important not to apply oil to the areas to be bonded. At the end, the table can be assembled, all joints glued with carpentry glue.
