Many modern smartphones of the “slightly below average” class take better pictures than they scanned scanners ten years ago. But it’s inconvenient to keep the document and the smartphone when moving. With only basic carpentry skills, you can make do it yourself uncomplicated device, greatly facilitating the "scanning" of abstracts, sketches, etc. a smartphone. Parts of the device are made by the master from a material called FOREX Feather. He is most likely to lose to the well-known method, despite the name, has nothing to do. This is a three-layer sheet material, both outer layers of which are made of PVC, and the inner one is made of polyurethane. Of course, you can use ordinary sheet materials: plexiglass, plywood, etc., but the weight of the structure will noticeably increase.
First of all, the master makes the part shown below. It bends easily thanks to two grooves. A similar part from plywood (except for the flexible type of Ceiba), and especially - plexiglass, will not be flexible. We'll have to glue it from three hard and one flexible, for example, from some thick film.
Having made the base, the master makes grooves in it for another purpose - so that you can fix the vertical part. It is not necessary to stick, it is enough to make the grooves a little narrower, and the connection will turn out quite tight. But the device will be collapsible, and when disassembled - flat. It is very convenient to carry with you in the diplomat.

But this is already inconvenient - it turns out binding to a particular smartphone. It’s better to adapt the mechanism from a selfie stick. And also add a sheet of plexiglass, pressing the abstract, so that the scan turns out to be flat, as in a classic scanner. And a side illuminator that eliminates glare. This will result in an almost complete replacement of the scanner.
