I want to bring to your attention an unusual type of barbecue, namely - an open vertical barbecue. Let's see what it is. The main and most important difference between this type of barbecue and ordinary classic barbecue is that the skewers with meat are located not horizontally on the surface of the coal, but on the side. In most such barbecues have a collapsible design, which does not have an external box. At its core, such a barbecue is a container for combustible material, coal or firewood, on which side projections for skewers are located. Such barbecues are one-sided and two-sided. A collapsible design greatly facilitates the transportation process. Scientists have also proved that during the preparation of barbecue, fat drips from it and gets on the coals, where it burns and forms a harmful substance unsupported, which can cause cancer. Therefore, such a barbecue can be considered environmentally friendly.

For work you will need:

First of all, the author makes a frame from a 15 mm profile pipe.
Without this frame, you can just weld all the parts together and stop there. But the frame itself is a convenient fastening of all necessary parts, additional strength of the structure, and, of course, a neat aesthetically pleasing appearance due to the fact that the welds are located inside the structure.
Further, the author sheathes the side and back walls of the frame with a 4 mm sheet of metal, for greater durability. The front wall is drawn and notches are made on it with the help of a core for convenient drilling of metal. Further, the author cuts a window in the lower part of the back wall, which will play the role of a blower and ignition. It makes an obligatory element in it - a valve, which will close the window with the wing nut.Bolts are threaded and welded to the sides, on which stands for skewers will be mounted.
Now the author makes mounts for skewers. These are 6 stands of one size, and 6 of the other, with 15 mm holes. The part with holes is divided into 2 parts by a grinder. The halves of the holes on which the skewers will lie are leveled with a file.
The author welds all the received details to the basics of fastening.
The next step is the manufacture of the cover. Pieces of profile pipes also went to its manufacture. The closing mechanism is the same wing nut. The author made a tray for collecting dripping fat from stainless steel. On the sides welded base for handles. Parts that will be taken by hand from wooden cylinders with a through hole inside.
The lid to the barbecue is attached using a conventional hinge. All parts are set in place, so the front cover with holes is welded.
Barbecue is painted with heat-resistant heat-resistant paint. Although it turned out to be quite heavy, it is still compact and convenient for transportation in auto. For stability, so that the brazier does not tip over if someone accidentally touches, there are persistent legs inserted into the professional pipes on the sides at the bottom of the brazier.
All components fit freely in the inside of the barbecue. Supports for skewers are mounted with wing nuts onto bolts in the side walls. The entire assembly process does not take much time.
