Manufacturing process homemade:
Step one. The foundation
We make the basis, the author made a wooden tabletop for the finished metal frame. In general, for such homemade work it is quite possible to use a regular wooden table. To protect the wood from fire, you can impregnate the wood with special impregnation, which can be found in construction stores.
In the countertop there is a recess in which the grate is placed, here the fan will blow air. The author also made a niche of wood, collecting a kind of box with a hole for the pipe.
Step Two Metal finish
Next, we finish the tabletop with metal, it will make the whole structure stronger, and the metal should distribute heat more evenly. We cut sheet metal and sheathe everything with self-tapping screws. If desired, all joints can be welded.
In the end, the author painted everything from a balloon with heat-resistant paint. It will not be superfluous to paint the metal, since when heated, the steel rusts more intensely.
Step Three We lay a brick
Heat-resistant brick can be laid in the prepared base. Light brick, which is often used for the manufacture of muffle furnaces, is best suited.Such a brick will heat slightly, and the wooden base will not suffer from it in any way. But a heavy stove brick can heat up quite a lot, so here everything is done at your own peril and risk.
The author cuts a brick with a grinder, after soaking in water. Water is needed so that there is less dust, in general, its appearance is inevitable. The brick must be laid as tightly as possible, the slots should be as small as possible. The author even clogs bricks in some places with a rubber mallet.
Step Four Air supply
The author made a knee from a steel pipe, as well as grates, using a sheet of steel and a corner. It remains to make an air supply, as an option, you can use a room fan, car stove or something like that. The fan is placed in a wooden or other case, connected to the nozzle. Of course, it would be nice to organize an adjustment system, otherwise it might blow too much.
Step Five Improvements and tests
To adjust the air supply, the author made a shutter in the nozzle. Before testing, we coat all the joints between the bricks with heat-resistant cement. That's all, you can test, we kindle chips, add coal and inflate. The combustion is very intense, the author heats the steel to a yellowish glow, which is enough for forging.
As a demonstration, a rather massive piece of round timber was heated.
