The process of making a lawn mower:
Step one. Base engine mounting
First of all, we will prepare the basis on which we will place all the components. As a basis, we use a sheet of plywood, cut it to the desired size and drill holes. At the author, the motor is screwed with four screws and nuts. To fix everything was convenient, the recesses into which they hide are hidden under the nuts in the plywood. The length of the screws should be such that nothing protrudes from the other side.
Step Two Wheels
Next, we prepare the fasteners for the wheels, and the wheels we already have axles, such wheels can be removed from the old stroller. We need to make fasteners for the axles, we make them from a wooden bar. In total, there will be 4 wheels on the lawn mower, but later the author will leave only two for greater machine maneuverability. We cut the workpieces and drill holes, we will also need to make a part from the bar, to which we will attach the handle.
Step Three Impregnation
Plywood is afraid of moisture, so we need to protect it. Yacht varnish is good, ideally there should be three layers, but the author applies one. That's all, now we have a good protective coating that can even be washed.
Step Four Assembly of the main part
When the varnish dries, you can collect the bulk of the mower. We install the engine, as well as the wheels. Everything is fixed with self-tapping screws. We also fasten the stick, which will be a handle for homemade work.
Step Five Protective shield
For a lawn mower, it is necessary to make a protective shield so that grass and dirt do not fly onto the engine, from which it will quickly become worthless. For the manufacture of such a shield, you can use material obtained from PET bottles. And you can just put on the engine a large bottle of water or a plastic canister. The author made the side parts of the shield from fiberboard, but it is better to use plywood. We collect everything with a stapler.
Step Six Final touches
In conclusion, we will need to make a reel for installing fishing line, it can be made from a piece of parquet or plywood. The fishing line must be installed so that it does not go to break when the reel is working, otherwise the fishing line will quickly break.
We also install a cable with reliable insulation, make a plug at the end of the cable so that the machine can be quickly and completely turned off, and we also put the switch in an accessible place.
