This mini hood can be used when soldering, when burning on wood, like a hood near an ashtray, etc.
For its manufacture, we need a fan cooler (suitable for any size; in this case, consider the example of a mini cooler 60x60 mm in size), an electric junction box (preferably square, because it is more resistant to rollover), suitable for the size of the cooler, the power supply with the maximum output voltage of 12 volts (the phone’s power supply most often produces 5 volts, from dandy or portable DVD players 9-12 volts; the voltage is indicated on the power supply itself). In this case, I used 9 volts from a broken portable DVD, the cooler will not work at full power with it, because it is designed for 12 volts, but this performance is quite enough. If you want to connect several coolers to one power supply at once, then do not forget about the maximum load for which it is designed (no more than the total load of all coolers, otherwise it will burn).
First, make a hole with a crown on a tree in the switchgear. box. He took the crown a little smaller than the fan itself.
After that, we clean the ends of the wires of the power supply and cooler (yellow grounding, it is not needed) and connect each other in accordance with the color, isolate the electrical tape.
We check the operation of the cooler and determine the side of the suction. We glue the cooler moment to the switchgear with glue. box so that the suction side is outside.
At the distribution. boxes most often have three holes for electrical wires. They always have a so-called blind plug, which is easily removed with a knife or screwdriver. The two lower ones, as seen in the photo, came in handy as legs. On the third, I removed the plug (pre-checked the tightness by turning on the cooler and sealed all the gaps in the distribution box case with tape) and connected an ordinary 10 mm diameter plastic hose that fit perfectly to it, the other end of which led out onto the street through a window. Since I often work with a mini hood on a glazed balcony, the hose length was only 1 m.The cooler has enough power. When choosing a cooler and power supply, I advise you to proceed from the future length and diameter of the outlet hose (there are no exact calculation methods). The larger the cooler size and the output voltage of the power supply, the higher the performance, of course. Try to select the diameter of the hose as small as possible.
