So what do we need?
- Water fittings;
- tee;
- Adapter 3/4 to 1/2;
- Adapters 1/2 to the hose;
- Rubber gasket;
- A cord from natural fibers;
- The tape is sanitary;
- Oil intended for lamps (kerosene can also be used);
- A penny in two rubles.
The materials are collected, get to work. We take a penny and insert it into the adapter with a rubber gasket.
Next, screw the same adapter onto the tee. On the second side of the tee, insert the plug.
Now you need to take care of the holders for the wick. To do this, take 1/2 adapters on the hose, into which we insert our cord of natural fibers. Such ropes can not be purchased in every store, but you need to look carefully, in the end to find a cord made from natural fibers. The fact is that an identical cord of artificial or synthetic fibers simply will not work, because the synthetics melt and burn.
The wick holders are ready, which means that they can be installed in their places, namely in the tee.
All materials are ready. You can assemble our lamp. You can do this as shown in the picture, or you can dream up by creating your own unique lamp.
That's the whole simple process of making an oil lamp from water fittings. The finished lamp can be used in this way, or you can take a little galvanized acid and give it a slightly rusty and tarnished appearance, which will make the lamp more colorful and stylish.
It remains only to add oil and make sure that the tips of our wicks protrude by about one to a couple of millimeters. Otherwise, the flame will be very large and can cause serious harm to the lamp and objects that will be nearby. Separately, it is worth noting that there will be no mechanism on the lamp that will allow the flame to be regulated, so it is better not to experiment with the length of the wicks.
