A game produced by Ubisoft, known as Assassin’s Creed (Assassin’s Creed) has triggered a revolution in the field of computer games. Many gamers and fans of this game especially liked the root weapons the main character is a hidden blade. We decided to devote this material to the video review, which describes the process of creating such a blade from wooden spatulas.
Let's start the production by watching the author’s video.
So, we need:
- wooden spatulas;
- thin wire;
- an elastic band for notes;
- spring from the handle;
- sandpaper;
- drill;
- Super glue;
- barbecue skewer.
Let's start with some clarifications. In the photograph above, the spatulas used for manufacturing are painted in different colors. A blue spatula will be used as a guide, and a blue spatula will simulate a blade. You will also need small wooden spatulas from which the mechanism will be made.
We begin the manufacturing process with the assembly of the blade body. To do this, you need three spatulas for the top and bottom, and one for the side walls. Cut off the places where the rounding begins, so that they become rectangular.
After that, we process the spatulas with sandpaper. It is important to maintain maximum accuracy, since it is precisely this that is the most important in this project.
We take the spring from the handle and bend it with an ordinary screwdriver to make the spring smaller. It takes about 2-3 turns.
Cut the resulting wire smaller. It is important that the resulting wire can bend 90 degrees and come back. If this does not happen, you can try another wire or add a few turns.
Next, take a drill of the same diameter as the wire and drill a hole in the blade and guide spatula. This is necessary so that the spring stands between these two spatulas and will fold the blade back.
We put the spring on one side of the guide and in the most extreme place where the spring protrudes, draw a strip. We do the same with a knife.
We saw in the marked places to place the spring itself.
For greater fixation, fill everything with superglue.
We assemble the structure on a wooden barbecue skewer.
We proceed to the manufacture of a folding mechanism. We take small wooden spatulas. They will be put on the cross. It is important that the length of the small wooden spatulas is proportional to the width of the cabinet.
Now we take a wire from which we cut off pieces for attaching the mechanism. We make holes on the small spatulas exactly in the center. We attach crosses with wire. In total four crosses should turn out.
You can also take care of the aesthetics of the case. To do this, take three more spatulas, which we attach to the body. We cut them off in the shape of a triangle to get a kind of adapter from three spatulas to one.
On both slats we make a hole along the diameter of the barbecue skewers.
We begin the assembly of the structure.
At the end of the mechanism, we also make a hole, we also make holes at the bottom of the case. Through these holes you need to stick a thin rope, which will be needed to engage the mechanism. In order for the blade to go straight ahead, we add guides, which we also make from spatulas.
As a result, we should get something like this.
This, of course, is nothing but a toy, but when replacing materials, you can get quite serious homemade. Of course, we do not recommend doing this, because it is still a cold weapon, experiments with which can cause serious harm to health.
