We continue the theme of modding computer accessories. In this article, we present to your attention an overview of a video on modifying an external drive.

So we need:
- regular flash drive;
- a piece of organic glass;
- Light-emitting diode;
- a little plastic.
You should start by making a form for our flash drive. To do this, cut the blank in the shape of a cross from a piece of organic glass.
At the base of the cross you need to cut out a small place in order to insert a flash drive there without a case.
You also need to make a small recess for the LED.
The legs of the LED need to be soldered to the extreme contacts of the flash drive.
For better fixation, as well as isolation of the entire structure, fill the place where the flash drive was installed with hot glue.
We cut two pieces of plastic according to the shape of the workpiece.
The resulting pieces of plastic in the form of a cross are glued on two sides of the base of organic glass. According to the author, gluing can be superglue.
Can give homemade a more attractive look if you make cuts in plastic in the form of strips with the help of an office knife heated on a regular gas stove or burner. This will make the glow more spectacular.
Finally, paint the makeshift flash drive with spray paint. If there are smudges on the sides, they can be easily removed with fine sandpaper.
