Tracked all-terrain vehicle "VS-2 G-1"

Yuri Firsov from the village of September at the forum described his path in all-terrain engineering under the name "Yurok".
Tracked all-terrain vehicle

Yuri built tracked all-terrain vehicle "ВС-2 Г-1". Decoding of the name: "B" -all-terrain vehicle, "C" - homemade,
“2” is the second, “G” is the tracked, “1” is the first. First car making was wheeled.

The donor is a fully VAZ-2105.

The engine from the VAZ-2105.
The rear axle from the VAZ-2105.
Gearbox (gearbox) from the VAZ-2105.
Wiring from the VAZ-2105.
Torpedo from the VAZ-2105.
Transfer box from the VAZ-2121 Niva.

A start. The frame is welded and the layout has begun.

The connection of the transfer case and the rear axle is rigid. The original version.

The balance bar mount.

Caterpillar manufacturing.

The dimensions of the caterpillar.

The racks of the hull are welded.

Transmission and transfer case connection using a driveshaft. The mount of the cardan should be mirror-symmetrical, this eliminates vibration.

The driveshaft is shortened.

Track tension mechanism.

Harvesting sprockets.

Drawing for the tooth.

The mechanism of fastening the balancer.

The remains of the VAZ-2105.

A new way to connect the rear axle and transfer case using the driveshaft.

Making a star.

Covering the drive wheel with a conveyor belt to reduce sound during movement.

Conveyor belt, thickness-12 mm, cord in two layers.

Clutch master cylinders for brake discs on the rear axle for turning the tracked all-terrain vehicle.

Scheme of fastening the gearbox and transfer case.

Front and side view.

Back view.

Engine installation.

Support wheels are dressed.

The back of the boat is brewing.

Finally, the teeth for the drive sprocket are planed according to the dimensions indicated in the drawing.

Checking the fit of the drive sprocket caterpillar.

The location for the support roller has been determined.

Bolts of fastening for an axis of the supporting skating rink.

The caterpillars are ready. A good bearing area, each of the track tracks is 150 mm long, 150 * 4 = 600 mm and the length is 2 m 80 cm 2.80 * 0.6 = 1.68 sq m.

The all-terrain vehicle was dismantled after pokatushek and the boat is being welded.

Working.

Welded and primed.

A place to reinforce the stocking.

The kerchiefs are welded.

The wings are welded.

The lugs are welded up.

The exhaust pipes are removed from the engine compartment. The silencer is fixed at the rear.

The seat is installed.

Repair after check out.

Build up the sides.

Strengthened control levers.

The height of the teeth on the drive sprocket was reduced to 35 mm, as they engaged at the track exit.

Stacked with an electric plane.

Welded windshield.

The interior of the cabin.

Side windshield mounts.

Departure through spring puddles.

I did not call the design of this all-terrain vehicle "classic." Running gear with swinging balancers is used by masters relatively rarely. Most of the creators of all-terrain vehicles rigidly plant wheels on the axle.
p.s. I wonder what material the sprocket teeth are made of. Polyurethane?
Sufficiently classic and tested by many amateurs, the design of the all-terrain vehicle. As a drawback, I would note the absence of a covered cabin, although this saves the overall weight of the device. The car showed itself well when driving in the snow - the mass is distributed correctly and the all-terrain vehicle does not fall deep.
