Spectacular bike with LED light

Tired of boring wheels on bike? -This thing is fixable ...

In this dialogue, we will make the wheels more effective, with LED backlighting.

LED wheel illumination, excellent tuning for your two-wheeled “stallion”, it will not only increase the visual effect, but will greatly protect you when driving in the dark on public roads.

For tuning the wheels with LEDs we will use:
- directly LED;
- Neodymium magnets with a diameter of 10 mm or 12 mm and a thickness of 4 mm to 10 mm;
- capacitor 16 V;
- resistor;
- diode bridge;
- relay coil 24 V.

When using an old-style relay coil, part of it needs to be removed, we need the coil itself. To remove the metal holder, you need to carefully make a cut in the place indicated by the yellow line in the photo, then the case will fall apart. The plastic corners of the flanges on both sides need to be finalized (they should be rounded).

Next, we weld the parts according to the specified scheme. The resistor must be soldered to the positive contact of the LED.

We make the elements of the holder and the case, you can try to make them yourself, being smart, but in this case they are made on a 3D printer, you can download the templates on the website

In the case, drill a hole with a diameter of 6 mm and install an LED with a resistor in the resulting hole.
Place the relay coil in a plastic case and observe the polarity solder to the LED with a resistor.

To seal from moisture on the electrical elements of the created device, we apply soil on it on an acrylic basis, then varnish, also on an acrylic basis in two layers.

Install neodymium magnets in the remaining case. The generated voltage depends on the power of the magnets, respectively, and the brightness of the LEDs.

Fasten the magnet in the housing to the holder.

Install the housing with the magnet to the bicycle frame, but the LED and relay coil on the wheel spokes.We adjust the device so that the clearance between the coil and the magnet is 2 cm.

That's all! Tuning is over!

Interesting gloom!

Bravo!
Interesting innovation!
Bravo!
Witty bike tuning! It’s a pity that the firefly wheel doesn’t illuminate the road from below. And why only a single LED for a single wheel? You can work the same way, but in a different color, on the second. A LED strip does not come out to adapt to highlight the blackness of the night?
It’s done just fine, everything must be so thought out. This invention with LED illumination will be a good beacon, so to speak, for those who ride a lot of bikes at night. Every driver will immediately notice that a cyclist rides ahead. Be sure to do my son this, loves to ride late in the summer.
Bravo! The “eternal magnetic generator” that powers the backlight LED is very witty. True, I would replace the "budget" electrolytic capacitor with a similar device of a much smaller size (for example, tantalum).
