Step 1. From a sheet of cardboard, make a pattern of a mudguard, cut it and attach it to the desired place. Correct the pattern if necessary.
Step 2. Put the updated pattern on a tin sheet, circle it and cut the base of the mudguard out of metal. Cut the second base in mirror image. From the foam sheet on the same pattern, cut the edges of the mudguards, such as in the photo.
Step 3. Glue the foam on the base of tin and with a knife and sandpaper give the mud flaps the desired smoothly curved shape
Step 4. Glue foam blanks with pieces of newsprint. Stick on paper using papier-mâché technique. Use PVA glue for work.
Step 5. After the mudguard blanks are completely dry, try them on. a car and if necessary, adjust their shape. Drill holes for the mounting bolts in the tin base.
Step 6. Prime and cover the improvised mud flaps. After drying, sand them with sandpaper.
Step 7. Paint the mud flaps in the desired color. After the enamel has dried, attach the finished mud flaps to their place.
