Good afternoon, dear users and guests of this site. There is spring in the yard and soon the sun will warm quite warmly. And there, and summer is just around the corner. Sometimes, on a particularly hot day, one wants to lie in the shade of trees either on a hammock, or on something else intended for this. Therefore, I want to introduce you to the further distribution and use of this idea, a rocking chair for two at the cottage do it yourself. This chair is not at all difficult to make, especially if this is not the first time you are holding various tools in your hands and know how to use them.
To implement this design you need such tools:
Jigsaw, screwdriver, wood screws, putty on wood, ruler and pencil. And also a wooden plate or a thick and dense piece of chipboard.
According to this template, we transfer the drawing to the wooden blank and saw it with a jigsaw.
There should be two such parts.
We grind the edges of our workpiece with the help of a polishing machine or sandpaper.
Further, the author fastens these parts together using clamps, i.e. clamps them so that when marking and drilling holes to avoid alignment and, as a result, uneven fastening of parts.
Further, the author makes slots on the blanks for a more durable fastening of the transverse slats on which the boards will be mounted.
After the frame of the rocking chair is assembled
the author proceeds with the preparation of transverse bars on which it will be possible to lie.
Using an electric jigsaw, bars of the same length are sawn off, which are carefully ground so that there is no splinter.
Then, in each of the cubes, he drills two holes on each side with a drill. Wood screws will be driven into these holes and the transverse bars will be directly attached to the base of the chair.
Each hole on the crossbar must be additionally processed, namely, drill a little already existing holes for a larger diameter. This is done so that the screws with which the bars will be attached are hidden in a tree and not visible from the outside and not interfere.
Getting to the assembly. We fasten the transverse bars to the base. So that they are at the same distance from each other, when fastening between them, we insert a small bar. This will ensure the same distance between the bars over the entire area of the chair.
In its raw form, the chair has already acquired its appearance. This is how it looks.
Remains a little refinement. Those holes in the bars into which the self-tapping screws were inserted must be repaired. To do this, take a special putty on wood and carefully fill in these holes. When all the holes are closed, let the putty dry thoroughly. Then grind again.
We give a beautiful view. The finishing touch is the varnishing of the finished product.
The result is a comfortable, mobile and beautiful rocking chair for two people. Now you will be doubly pleased to lie on a rocking chair made by yourself!
