When you put a hot kettle or something else hot on the table, you inevitably expose the table cover to deformation, namely the melting of the varnish on it or the melting of oilcloth. This problem can be solved using a hot stand, which the author decided to do on his own. Make such a stand is not difficult, so everyone can assemble it.
In order to make a folding stand for hot we need:
* Plywood.
* Compass.
* Electric fretsaw.
* Drilling machine or drill.
* Aluminum tube.
* Hacksaw for metal.
* Long metal hairpin.
* Nut and washer.
* 6mm wrench.
All parts are ready for assembly, so let's get started.
Step one.
The first thing you need to do is to note the dimensions of the future stand, it should be slightly larger than what you want to put on it. You can draw even semicircles using a compass. Then we bring the drawing to readiness with a ruler, as shown in the photograph.
Step Two
After the drawing is ready, go to the tools. A power tool is a dangerous thing, so when you pick it up, make sure that your hands are wearing gloves and your eyes are protected by safety glasses. Saw the smallest semicircle with an electric jigsaw, we do not need it.
Next, we cut out the second half-ring, which we then clamp in a vice and drill on a drilling machine where the hairpin will be located.
We do the same with the other half rings, the main point is to observe the alignment of the drilled holes.
Step Three
We clamp an aluminum tube in a vice, substituting wooden jaws on top of the metal so as not to wrinkle the tube and saw off a piece of the required length, which should be the size of the inner diameter of the smallest half ring, with a hacksaw.
Step Four
All parts are ready to assemble them together.
We put the half rings together and put the pin into the holes made in them, after placing the tube that was cut earlier.
Then we throw in the washers and then tighten the nuts on both sides, tightening it stronger with a 6mm wrench.
On this, a home-made hot stand is ready, its difference from the others is that it can be folded out, which gives an increase in its size by half.
