Shock absorber for spring


Many motorists who are accustomed to repairing their iron horse themselves, know how to figure it out in order to sort out the suspension auto without special tools that are not used very often, but are not cheap. So the author made these screeds on his own.

Need a piece of pipe of the right size (the size depends on the thickness of your springs), the author came up with this

Cut it into 4 pieces of 4 cm and cut 1/4 part

clamped in yews

and with not strong blows of the hammer we achieve evenness of one edge

these should be 4 hooks.

Then we take a corner of a suitable size.

Also cut them into 4 pieces, 1 cm larger than the hooks

On one wall of the corner we drill a hole for the threaded rod m14 so that it would move freely.

We weld hooks and corners in this way, we get brackets.

Now the brackets need to be finalized using a pipe. (Since intermediate tests showed that the spring is able to unbend the angle used.)

About the rod: it must be lubricated with solid oil (otherwise the thread is eaten very quickly by the nut.)

Cut the pieces of pipe and weld.

Everything, the coupler for springs is ready.

Some, damn it, experts. In order to compress, you need a screw with left and right threads. Spin the construction pin yourself somewhere, no matter what diameter it is. Specialists Dmitry and Valery .... it's something!

Dmitry, this is necessary! ))). If the shock absorber strut is assembled together with the spring, the spring is put on the strut, and the shock absorber is inside it. I once fooled with the front ones in a diesel weave. The couplers were factory, stronger than these at times, but still, "not enough moza." (There is a five-boiler engine with a cast-iron block! And the car weighs more than two tons. Accordingly, the springs are powerful!). They squeezed the spring with a four-meter wooden beam, after which I held one, and I pulled it with rattle slings.
Why is this necessary? I lifted the car with a jack and pulled out the springs with my hands without much effort. I don’t know about the front ones.
Nakrainyak can be slightly bent with a crowbar, resting on a bridge or wheel.
And try to compress the front spring of a diesel passenger car, heavier than 2 tons !!))))
In general, a triangular metric thread is not designed for this! (And even more so - weak construction studs). To prevent the product from being disposable and compressing the spring more easily, a persistent thread is needed! Or, a rectangular instrumental ...
