Greetings to all fishermen, tourists and just lovers of tinkering with something out of nothing.
Very often, when fishing or camping, such a situation arises; it is necessary to cook, boil water for tea or coffee, but there is no possibility to make a big fire. Especially often in this situation, lovers of winter fishing find themselves, you can’t make a special fire on ice, and it’s intense with fuel.
I suggest you make a simple stove that works on chips, fine brushwood or cones.
Tools needed.
1. Angle grinder.
2. Drill.
3. Drills.
4. The hammer.
5. Vise.
6. Welding inverter (optional).
Materials required.
1. Sheet steel 1 mm thick.
2. Sheet steel 5 mm thick.
3. Steel wire with a diameter of 3 mm. or welding electrode.
4. Bolt with nut.
5. Textolite with a thickness of 10 mm.
6. Cutting wheel on angle grinder.
We cut four pieces of 20 by 14 cm from sheet steel with a grinder. I don’t advise taking steel thinner, of course the weight will decrease but the stove will certainly lead and it will be problematic to assemble it.
The most difficult part of the job is to cut three hooks on each side on these blanks, as in army beds, those who served know it. The height of the hook is 4 cm. Width is 1.5 - 2 cm. Naturally, cuts on the contacting sides of the stove should be made in opposite directions.
To improve traction at the top of all walls, we make triangular cuts after 2 cm. In two opposite parts at the bottom, we cut out a blower of about 9 cm by 4 cm.
In one of the walls with a blower we cut a hole for the furnace 9 cm by 5 cm. The lower edge of the hole should be 1-1.5 cm above the grate, otherwise the chips will periodically fall out. At first we made a hole flush with the grate, but after testing we had to weld a strip of metal.
In the details without blowing, we drill two holes for attaching the grate. We bend the mount itself from steel wire, we made it from a welding electrode with a diameter of 3 mm.
We assemble the parts together and measure the resulting internal transverse size of the stove, in our case it turned out 10 mm. by 10 mm. From sheet steel 5 mm thick.cut the grate according to the resulting dimensions.
We also drill holes for blowing air. We first drilled holes with a 5 mm diameter drill. but tests have shown that such a diameter is small and the holes are clogged with ash. Therefore, most of the holes were drilled with a 10 mm drill.
From millimeter metal we cut out the firebox door. It is attached to the stove with ears that cling to the wall fastening. To remove the door, at first they simply bent the upper edge, but it turned out to be not practical, since the door is very hot and can only be removed with a sliver. To avoid this inconvenience, a nut was welded to the door and a removable handle was made of a bolt and textolite.
That's the whole not complicated design. Tested fishing repeatedly, 4 liters. water boils in about 20 minutes.
All a great vacation and good luck in work.
