I present to you an interesting homemade product from the author of Sazy - a wooden lamp-puppy. The idea is quite interesting, performance at altitude.
For work Sazy used:

From materials:
Hard, expensive and noble woods are ash and oak. The structure of the selected materials had many knots and is therefore very difficult to process. But the author is sure - for his project this is only a plus.
The first step in implementing the idea was to make a template. Its creation was originally on paper. Further, thanks to the game with dimensions, a very good result was achieved for the proportions of the lamp. Templates were made with a paper model. They were made from 20 mm. plywood. Since it has solid ends, when copying them it will not be able to wash the roller of the copy cutter, respectively, all subsequent workpieces will be quite accurate.
The next step is wood processing. First, all the bark is removed from it and the knots are cut out. Then, on the planer, the wood layer is made perfectly even. One half of the workpiece is processed on this machine, and then the second half is also processed with the help of a thicknesser, making it even as the side machined on the jointer. Among other things, the thicknesser is good in that it can be used to prepare many blanks of the same thickness, which is important for all products.
We transfer the template to the workpiece and cut out the parts using a jigsaw with a slight indentation. Then we process the edges of the parts on the milling table according to the prepared plywood templates. In order for the details of the future lamp to be the same in size with their plywood copies, they should be attached to each other. To do this, the author used double-sided tape, since when fixing parts with screws, traces will remain. Although they are much more reliable.
Sometimes during the processing of workpieces, they can break. This is due to invisible cracks in the eye.Consider this at the initial stage of work, prepare in advance the amount of material with a small margin. Just for such annoying accidents.
All obtained blanks are carefully ground.
To make the lamp more stable, the legs need to be parted slightly to the sides of the body. To do this, the author, with the help of home-made carriages, sawed them at a slight angle.
Then holes are made in the details of the lamp. We put it in a pile and drill, not forgetting to put some bar under the workpieces so that the drill at the exit does not break through the fibers, which will look sloppy on the parts.
It remains to make a ceiling. It will be made of MDF 6 mm veneered from 2 sides with oak. Also with the help of carriages we set the angle of inclination and saw off. On the milling machine we make grooves for gluing. The ceiling will be a box of 6 walls, one of which from the back will be recessed inward. This is to hide all electrical connections.
For the convenience of lighting, the author decided to make the dog's head rotary. To do this, he made the simplest articulation of a self-tapping screw and a piece of bar. We insert it into the upper end of the neck and select the tension so that the head with little difficulty turns to the sides. After manufacturing and fixing the hinge on the workpiece, the ceiling is glued. Saturate the product with varnish and leave to dry until the next impregnation.
We assemble the electrical component of the lamp. The lamp, preferably, should be LED, so as not to heat up.
