Homemade does not change the design of the grinding machine, it is a nozzle that is installed instead of one of the grinding wheels. The machine copes with its tasks without problems, the materials for assembly are pretty simple. The only difficulty is the manufacture of wheels, the author makes them on a lathe. Homemade manufacturing process:
Step one. Grinding Machine Preparation
First, prepare the grinder. We need to unscrew the protective shield, and also remove the grinding wheel, as a result, only the axis remains. On the case you can see the threaded holes for attaching the shield, here we will now attach our nozzle.
Step Two Frame manufacturing
Let's make the main part of the frame, on which all the elements will be. Here we need thick sheet steel, cut off the desired piece and outline the places for drilling holes. First of all, we drill a hole under the shaft of the grinder. Next, apply dye to the holes of the grinder and apply the blank to see where to drill the holes. Well, now it's up to the small, drill holes for mounting screws.
Step Three Wheels
The author turned the impellers on a plastic lathe. Similarly, bearing seats were machined.If there is no lathe, there are many other solutions for making such wheels. They are made of plywood, solid wood, and some craftsmen use ready-made skateboard wheels that can be bought at a sports store.
Step Four Installation of wheels and tensioner
We install the wheels on the bed, the drive is fastened to the motor shaft with a nut, and the followers will rotate on bolts. The side wheel will act as a tensioning belt, and with it we will center the belt on the wheels. The design of these nodes is very simple, everything is also made of sheet steel, you can get acquainted with the design in more detail in the photo. If desired, you can install a spring that will automatically tension the grinding belt.
Most of the machine is done, you can install the grinding belt and try to start the machine. If there is no belt, it can be glued from sandpaper.
Step Five Thrust planes
First of all, we will establish a vertical plane, about which we will abut the product when grinding. We weld the plate to the frame, it is desirable to grind its edges, and polish the plate itself so that the grinding belt lasts longer. Of course, over time, the tape will polish this plane itself.
After that, we weld a horizontal platform at a right angle.
Step Six Painting
To make everything look beautiful, and the metal does not rust, we will paint our product by removing the nozzle from the machine. The author paints everything from a spray can, first the steel needs to be sanded, then the paint will hold more reliably.
After painting, we assemble everything and test the machine in practice. To begin with, the author tries to polish a piece of the board on it, this works without problems. Also, as an experiment, the knife was sharpened. Of course, the speed here is not very high, so the machine is not suitable for working with metal, but for the processing of wood and other domestic needs, the machine turned out to be excellent.
