Do-it-yourself jigsaw

I often have to work with a manual jigsaw, cut out small parts for making airplane models. So I decided to mechanize the work of the modeler.
Do-it-yourself jigsaw

On the Internet, I found a drawing, drawings, but the sizes did not suit me. I changed the scale and began to build this electric jigsaw. For work used: plywood 10 mm; board on 30, 35 mm; metal corners, rods, self-tapping screws.

Sawed out all the details, prepared for assembly. Rocker sawed from plywood 10 mm, the details of the frame from the board 20 mm. Base furniture chipboard. To attach the file, I cut the attachment unit from the hand jigsaw and attached the rocker arm to the ends.

Koromysl planted on an axis of metal rods D-4 mm. For a long time I was looking for an electric drive. All available engines are too revolving, strong vibration. It is necessary to put the gearbox.

At hand was an electric car pump for tire inflation for 12 volts. It took a little alteration, I had to remove the piston. The engine crashed into a wooden stand, picked up the desired height from the base of the product, made a junction with the lower beam.

The table plate was made of a 10 mm MDF laminated board.
At the rear end, the yoke adapted the rubber thread used by the fishermen. In the future, choose a suitable spring. The electrical wiring is simple - a toggle switch, a car charger power source. During the test, some shortcomings were revealed: high engine speeds - connected resistance; engine vibration - laid a rubber lining under the engine, strengthened the mount to the base. Nail files used spiral 1 mm, very comfortable. That's probably all. I invite you to watch the video.

So after all I come from the USSR, I remember everything. Today, the Soviet compression engine is still stored. Modern guys do not really want to bother with fuel, oils. IM all at once ...
Well done! In the distant 80s, we at the Station of Young Technicians also did this, only instead of the compressor we had our 2.5 cm / cc. the engine (either the Rainbow, or the Rhythm), the fixture of the file was attached directly to the piston, and they made a duralumin machine, at that time it was not a shortage. The engine was asynchronous, I don’t remember from the fan or from the pump, the shafts were connected directly. As a vibration mount, rubber suction cups were used. For work, half the length of the file was enough, which were just in short supply, so that even fragments could be used. And by the way, the upper mount of the file was swinging, with a hard mount there, the file broke off after a while. There was another design variant of the jigsaw, if I can repeat it, I’ll definitely post it here.
