Manufacturing process.
So, the master will use hardwoods as the basis for the lazy drum. He grinds the disc, and soaks it with linseed oil.
Then it drills an axis hole in its central part.
Then he drills holes for the "cartridges".
It is again impregnated with oil, and the drum is already acquiring a similar shape.
It remains only to make small descents on both sides.
Slices several blanks for bullets from a brass bar, and forms a head.
Now you need to cut the spent cartridges to a suitable size.
From the aluminum round cuts off the workpiece.
And the box is milled out of it.
Then it drills and countersinks the holes for the mounting bolts.
Now the author needs to cut a hole for the steering wheel itself, it will be almost oval.
Next, the master cuts the corners on the router.
Now cuts the workpiece into two parts, and aligns the cut.
So, these are the structural elements.
It is necessary to grind the axis on which the drum will be held, and adjust it to the diameter of the bearings.
In addition, you will need a sleeve of aluminum bar.
Now you can collect the drum, the first thing is glued capsules and "bullets".
Then bearings with a sleeve between them are installed.
The drum is put on the axis, and its rotation is checked. In addition, a decorative plug will be needed.
The following is a test assembly.
Everything is ready for installation on the steering wheel. Fixing bolts are tightened and a decorative cap is screwed.
And so it is device looks in its place.
Thanks to the author for a simple but useful device for a car steering wheel!
