Monster octopus devouring a ship

Hello to all fans of the craftsmen, today we will consider how to make a unique epoxy resin night lamp and polymer clay. In the picture, the author depicted a terrible monster in the form of a giant octopus devouring a ship in the ocean. Everything looks very interesting, but in the manufacture homemade not so complicated. Such a product can be a great gift for any age category. If you are interested in the project, I propose to study it in more detail!

Materials and tools used by the author:

Material List:
- ;
- dyes;
- epoxy resin for pouring;
- acrylic;
- toothpicks;
- threads;
- LED, wires, jack for connecting BM.

Tool List:
- drill;
- scissors;
- glue gun;
- brush and other painting tool;
- ruler;
- stationery knife.

Homemade manufacturing process:

Step one. Making octopus
The most difficult part of the project is the manufacture of an octopus, as a material we need polymer clay. To begin with, the author fashioned the body of an octopus, we apply a pattern characteristic of these animals to the product.

We also need to make tentacles, roll the clay and form suction cups. To make the suction cups look realistic, you can find a cap from the handle or another object that can form such a pattern.
The author also cut teeth from polymer clay.

The body of the octopus is hollow with us, this is done so that you can pour epoxy inside. To fill the resin, glue a piece of acrylic to the bottom of the octopus with a glue gun. Well, then the resin can be poured inside the octopus, the author added a little red dye to it.

When the resin hardens, the octopus can be collected and painted.

Step Two Resin preparation and filling
Before pouring the resin, we need to cut the octopus tentacles at the same height, these details will protrude above the surface of the water. We also make a base from polymer clay, paint it blue to mimic the color of water.

Around the base, you can collect the formwork, acrylic will help us with this.We make the joints tight, so that the resin does not leak out, seal everything with hot glue and adhesive tape. When the formwork is ready, add a little blue dye to the resin and fill it into the mold.

When the resin sets, you can set the desired relief on the surface, simulate waves, and also prepare a place for the ship.

Step Three Ship
The author also made the ship from polymer clay, a drill helped in the work. Masts for the ship can be made from toothpicks. We paint everything beautifully and realistically, and also do not forget to install the octopus tentacles in their place. In order not to get confused, the author tentatively numbered the tentacles. For reliable bonding of tentacles, it is recommended to install on the pins.

Step Four Final touches
That's all, the homemade product is almost ready, it remains to make the basis and install the LED. The base can be assembled from wood or dense foam. The LED is suitable for 5V, also do not forget to securely install the socket for connecting the power supply.

This is the end of the project, everything looks amazing, I hope you liked the homemade work, and you found useful thoughts for yourself. Good luck and creative inspiration, if you decide to repeat this. Do not forget to share your ideas and homemade things with us!
