Greetings to fans of craftsmanship, today we will consider how to make an electric motorcycle. The author used the ready-made parts, this is a 1.5 kW motor wheel, as well as a controller, a makeshift battery, a car wheel, and, of course, an experimental motorcycle. Looks homemade quite interesting, our motor is also not weak, but the power for such an engine should be appropriate, this should be remembered. Homemade manufacturing process:
Step one. Alteration disk
First, we need to prepare the rim for installing the motor wheel. To do this, we need the help of a lathe, we will need to cut the core from the disk, as the author did. You can cope with the work with the help of a grinder, but to get an even cut you will have to work hard.
A round iron plate with holes for mounting the motor wheel is mounted on the back of the disk. Such a plate can be cut on a lathe or grinder. The plate must be carefully centered, and then welded to the disk by welding it.
At the end, we paint the welded plate so that it does not rust. The author chose a red paint, now the wheel looks great. At the end you can put a tire.
Step Two Motor Wheel Installation
We install the motor-wheel inside the rim, fasten it with bolts and nuts. That's all, when the wheel is assembled, it can be installed on a motorcycle. Do not forget to also connect the brake.
Step Three Assembly and testing
We assemble the motorcycle, install the controller for the engine and electronic throttle, at the end it will remain to install the battery. The author has a homemade battery, it is assembled from lithium cells. If you wish, you can assemble a similar battery yourself, depending on your needs.
That's all, the homemade product is ready, the motorcycle looks interesting. Homemade rides without problems, however, the technical specifications remain unknown. Of course, a powerful engine and a lot of weight will make itself felt, so the battery capacity should be quite large if you plan to travel long distances.
