Do-it-yourself simple blacksmith forge

Some of you are fond of forging, and the blacksmith forge itself is its main tool.
In this article, the author of the YouTube channel "Forge SVAROGA" will tell you how to make it using the simplest materials at hand.

Manufacturing process.
First of all, the master collects the horn box from ordinary pine boards. To connect them together, furniture corners and wood screws are used.


Then he kneads the clay using a hammer drill with a mixer nozzle. He gathered it on the river bank.


To reinforce the mortar, the master adds chopped hemp rope, although trimming fiberglass mesh can be used.


Now spreads the solution inside the box, and forms the bowl of the hearth. He picked up its sizes for small blades and blanks.



Around the bowl, the author pours river sand. A hole for a tube is drilled in the side wall with a pen drill, through which air will be pumped.


He welds such a bell to one end of the tube. The second end is cut at an angle, this will avoid clogging the tube with ash.


In order to fix the tube on the body, the author welded a couple of nuts to it, and screwed it to the body.

With the hair dryer attached to the tube, he did not invent anything, and tied it to the bell with a masking tape. He bought a hairdryer in the market, the cheapest. A hair dryer with a broken heater is also suitable. It only requires the injection of cold air. In the case of using a new cheap hairdryer, the important thing is the cold air supply mode, otherwise the hairdryer will have to be disassembled and the spiral turned off.


Using a grinder, the author made three slots in the upper part of the tube.Then he put a piece of rubber hose on them. So it will be possible to regulate the amount of air supplied to the furnace.



Everything is ready, you can load coal, and kindle a hearth. So he warms up the first blade blank.



The temperature for working with it is more than sufficient.


After forging, the master reduces the air supply and tempers the blade in engine oil.

It takes very little time to disassemble the hearth, and it can be removed until the next time.
