Most likely, many of you have been faced with the task of removing nails from the boards. Of course, an ordinary nail puller also copes with this, but it spoils the surface of the wood.
In this article, the author of the Hassan Abu-Izmero YouTube channel will tell you how he made the air gun for these tasks. It is especially useful for those who often engage in a similar type of work.
Unfortunately, after the manufacture of this homemade product, it will no longer be possible to use the nuler in normal mode.
Materials
- pneumatic neiler
- steel bar
- steel plate
—
- Machine oil.
Instruments, used by the author.
- Protective glasses

- Cleaning and cutting discs
- Band-saw
- Drilling machine, drill bits for metal
- Belt sander
- Air compressor
- Vise, screwdriver, file, core
Manufacturing process.
So, to make this tool you will need a pneumatic neiler. Although the author will consider this particular type of tool, it can also be used.
The first step is to disassemble the nuler, remove its head, and get to the percussion mechanism. Remove the piston with shock rod.
For the reason that the stem body is flat, it must be replaced. The author cuts a workpiece several centimeters long longer than the standard one from a steel bar. Steel bar should be high strength.
The stem itself is cut off from the piston.
Now, trying to keep the alignment of the parts as close as possible, the drummer is welded to the piston.
The welding spot is cleaned with a grinder with a flap or grinding wheel, and a new drummer is obtained.
You will also need to replace the standard gun head. The author will make it from a steel plate. First, he cuts a rectangular blank on a band saw.
After grinding the faces on the machine, it drills a through longitudinal hole using oil.Its diameter should be a fraction of a millimeter larger than the diameter of the steel bar.
Next, mark and drill holes for the mounting screws.
The master melts the flat hole in the standard plastic insert with a bar, making it round.
Inserts the piston into place, and tries on a new head.
For ease of use, the author decided to cut two corners of the head.
After grinding, this part looks like this.
Lubricates the slave cylinder, inserts the piston into place, and assembles the neiler in the reverse order.
So, the first check, and everything is successful! The drummer flies out in a split second.
Now you can check on real nails. The third photo even shows a nail flying out of the board.
But what about bent nails? The shock rod is specially recessed in the gun head, and it can be put on the nail, and align it. And again, a flying nail is visible. They fly very far, and at high speeds. In order to avoid injuries, it is necessary to use personal protective equipment, and especially special glasses. This device will definitely be useful to those who often parse pallets.
I thank the author for a very interesting improvement to the usual neiler! Now it can be called an antineiler, or a nailing gun.
All good mood, good luck, and interesting ideas!
