Hello everyone, this time we will look at how to make an oscillating spindle machine do it yourself. On such a machine, it is possible to grind wood conveniently and quickly and not only, various holes in the tree, bends and other difficult places lend themselves especially well to processing where classic tools cannot crawl. The author has assembled his machine on the basis of a battery grinder with the ability to adjust speed. If you work at low speeds, the machine is completely safe to operate. Machine manufacturing process:
Step one. Mobile platform
First of all, we need to make a movable platform, to which the Bulgarian will be attached. As material we use chipboard, plywood or whoever has something. We fasten furniture guides to the main sheet, and then the platform itself can be placed on the guides. The result is a simple, cheap and reliable site.

Step Two Grinding drum
We make a grinding drum, the author used a piece of a branch of suitable thickness for this. Oak or other dense wood is perfect. We clamp the workpiece into a lathe and grind it, we get an excellent base for installing sandpaper. In the drum, you need to make a seat under the nut, glue it there on epoxy glue, do not forget to grease the thread with grease.
To additionally fix the nut, we wrap the screws, press the nut with the hats. Of course, the nut should rest on an even base, otherwise it will skew, and there will be strong beats.
The author put the finished nozzle on the grinder and then turned it on a disk grinder.You can install sandpaper on the nozzle, for this, cut a slotted hole along the drum, where we launch the edges of sandpaper. To fix with sandpaper, the author wrapped the screws in the ends. Everything holds perfectly, and since there is no glue, sandpaper can be quickly changed.
Step Three Installing the grinder on a movable platform
We install the grinder, for fastening the author took clamps for wiring plumbing pipes. Such clamps can hold the grinder quite reliably.
Step Four Installation of the wiper motor
Install the motor from the wipers so that he can move the platform with the grinder. The author made under it fasteners from a steel corner, which he screwed to a bar. As a connecting rod we use a welded gas spring from of furniture or similar part with hinges at the ends. Everything works fine, friction in the nodes is minimal, such a design should last quite a long time.
Step Five Assembly and testing
We assemble the machine, in the end you should get a small table. You can twist the structure from particleboard or other material that is available. We cut a hole under the grinding nozzle using a crown of suitable diameter. Of course, for such a machine, it is desirable to make a few nozzles of different diameters and with sandpaper of different grain sizes.
We start the grinder at low speeds, and we supply 12V power to the wipers motor, the direction of rotation does not play a role. The machine is working, now the author is armed with another useful machine. For better work, it would be nice to connect the motor from the wipers also through the speed control, so that you can adjust the speed of the grinding drum.
