Manufacturing process homemade:
Step one. Hinge preparation
The author found the remains of an old bicycle, the hinge was completely rusted, and it had to be developed. The author poured bearings WD-40, and they were also heated by a gas burner. Of course, you do not need to use a rusted hinge to such an extent, the bearings and seats must be intact so that they can be tightened and the backlash removed.
Further, the author cut the hinge along with part of the frame, as a result, a fork turned out, to which we will attach the grinder. We also cut the axis of the pedals from the connecting rods.
Step Two The foundation
As a basis, the author used a piece of thick sheet steel. The base will be fixed with screws to a table or other platform. Of course, it is better to immediately find a sheet of metal of suitable sizes to get a ready-made even working plane.
We put our cut-off connecting rods on the axis of the carriage, and then we weld the connecting rods to the base at a right angle. That's all, we have a perfectly fixed base hinge.
Step Three Mount grinder
We make the mount for the grinder, use steel plates, weld the fasteners and drill holes for the bolts. At the author, the grinder is fastened with two bolts, it would be nice to weld the plate, which will fix the grinder with steel clamps, then it can be centered.
The author has welded the finished bracket to the hinge fork, of course, we use a square, we make sure that the disk is clearly perpendicular to the base.
Step Four A pen
We put the handle on the rack, the author used the handle from the grinder, the handle is attached to the welded threaded rod. If you use a working handle from a grinder, you can weld a nut to the product.
Step Five Spring and mounting holes
We are looking for a door spring of suitable power so that it can raise the grinder. The author welded a nut to the base, and we hook the spring to it. The author of the grinder rises to such an extent that it rests against the back side of the table. It’s not entirely safe when the disk is spinning in your face, and you can easily cut your hands, so be sure to make a travel stop so that the grinder rises 90-100 degrees from the base.

Step Six Painting, assembly and testing
