Side table stand for magazines

I think there will be few people who would not like to sit on a sofa with a cup of aromatic drink and not read their favorite magazine after a busy day. And how familiar is this situation: the whole table is littered with various presses and there’s nowhere to even put a cup. We suggest you solve this problem with the help of a side table-stand made do it yourself.

We will need:
• Copper tubes: 4 pieces, 2.5 cm long; 4 things. about 10 cm long; 2 pcs approximately 16.5 cm long; 4 pieces approximately 30.5 cm long and 4 pieces approximately 35.5 cm long.
• 8 fittings approximately 1.2 cm long
• 4 corner fittings approximately 1.2 cm long
• Pine board 7-8 cm thick, 48-49 cm long and 23 cm wide
• Sandpaper
• Pipe cutter
• Stain
• Polyurethane
• Glue with a small amount of epoxy
• Spray paint (matte black)
• Nylon fabric (we suggest taking black, as this color is less easily soiled)
• Sewing machine

First, measure out the given length of the pipes and carefully cut off the excess.

It should look something like this:

All the parts that you see in the picture above, we offer you for strength to coat with glue with a small amount of epoxy in the place of each connection.

After that, put all the parts together - it turns out the base of the table.

We apply the resulting base on the inside of the board to get an idea of where to make holes for attaching the countertops and carefully circle the places for drilling with a pencil. It is important that the holes have the same diameter as the pipe on which it will be mounted.

We drill four holes at the designated joints, do not drill through the board!

Wood may be susceptible to decay or mold; we recommend treating the countertop with polyurethane.

The board needs color. Cover with stain and let dry.

For now, put the countertop aside and do further assembly - you need to put together the legs of the table. It should look exactly like this:

Clean the copper tubes from dust and dirt with sandpaper.

Since the material is black, the legs of a different color will, to put it mildly, slightly spoil the appearance. We cover with a spray in several layers, and do not forget to let each layer dry.

Take a piece of fabric. We process the edges so that we hang the fabric on the tubes. On the short sides, back a few centimeters, bend the edges and sew on a sewing machine.

Hang the fabric as shown in the picture below:

The final stage. In the holes on the countertop, add a little glue, put and collect all the parts together. Apply a small amount of glue so that it does not leak out and does not spoil the appearance of the product.

The result was a magnificent and very comfortable side stand table!
