Fire rarely leaves anyone indifferent - the element fascinates, attracts attention, calms, and therefore, make a fiery fountain in home conditions would seem like a great idea to many. But, before proceeding directly to the instructions, I want to warn that working with fire requires caution and compliance with safety requirements.
The materials used for work should also be fire resistant and not afraid of high temperature.
Step # 1: Materials and Equipment
• Acrylic transparent tubes made of plexiglass (they can be bought on ebay)
• Single pole switch button
• Computer fan
• Fan grille
• Metal thick wire
• Steel grill
• 9 volt retractor
• Self-adhesive vinyl tape
Step # 2: Stand
We make a frame from the lattice and metal stainless steel wire, as shown in the photo. On the frame, you need to fix the half of the tin can, it should stand tight so as not to create a risk of ignition of the surrounding objects.
Step # 3: Support for the cylinder
The steel mesh will serve as a support for the acrylic cylinder. The mesh cells are 1x1 cm.
Step # 4: Attach the fan
Use the screws to attach the fan to the grill.
Step # 5: Fan Feet
The height of the legs is determined by trial and error in a practical way.
Step # 6: Connect
Connect the switch to the positive wire.
Step number 7: Let there be light!
Alcohol placed in a stainless cylinder will light up from the first match, you will regulate the flame height with the help of a fan. Install the acrylic tube and enjoy.
Step 8: Tips and Tricks
• Pay attention to the fan: the higher its power, the stronger and higher the flame. But, as a rule, powerful fans create a certain noise during operation that interferes with rest. The video shows two different fans and the difference in flame height is noticeable even by eye.
• When using a burner, the acrylic cylinder heats up very much. Take this into account so as not to get burned and, if possible, make a wide gap between the tin can and the acrylic cylinder wall.
