It's no secret that only expensive imported seat heating systems cars, and such an option is often included only at an additional cost. But thanks to the development of technology, almost any car owner can make a heated seat today and it does not matter what particular brand the car will be. As an example, how to upgrade a car, the author took a car company Mazda.
Materials and tools:
- heating kit (the author bought the kit on ebay for $ 100);
- screwdrivers;
- spanners;
- pliers;
- 100 clamps measuring 3.5X200;
- wiring (depending on brand).
Heating installation process
Step one. Seat removal
First of all, all the seats on which the heating will be installed must be removed. Then they can be attributed to garage or home for further work. Armchairs are removed in different ways, depending on the brand of car. Specifically, on the Mazda, to get to the bolts that hold the chair, you need to remove the plastic panel, it rests on the decorative bolts.
Also under the seats can be wires through which the seat drive is powered, as well as airbags. They should be carefully turned off. It is advisable to completely disconnect the vehicle from power before starting work.
Step Two Dismantling the seat
In order to install the heating element in the seat, it must be disassembled. Often in the lower part of the seat is a metal frame, which is the supporting component of the entire structure. It must be removed first.
In this case, such a shield is fastened with four bolts, they need to be unscrewed. You also need to remove the backrest tilt handle, it rests on three bolts.
After this, the seat needs to be turned back to normal and the upholstery removed. After removing the upholstery, you can see a metal rod to which the upholstery is attached using steel rings.
Step Three Installation of a heating element
After removing the upholstery, the surface of the chair will open, on which the heating element will need to be installed.First of all, you need to do a fitting, if the kit is suitable, you can proceed with the installation. There is a protective paper film on the heating element, after removing it, an adhesive base will open. The heating element must be glued to the chair, carefully smoothing the surface.
To keep the upholstery more reliable, it must be fixed with clamps, they must be pulled through a steel bar and tightened properly. That's all, the heating element is installed, in a similar way it is installed in the back of the seat.
Step Four Connection for seat heating
Now it only remains to connect the heating system. To do this, the wiring is carried out through the slots of the armrest, and buttons are installed. Plus, you must connect through a fuse, or the system can be connected through a cigarette lighter. As for the minus, you can take it in the armrest.
That's all, the system is installed. Now driving a car in winter will be much nicer, as the seats will never be cold.
