Those who like to grill meat on a barbecue or barbecue often face the problem of igniting it. After all, sometimes it’s not so easy to quickly reignite coal. To solve this problem, one author proposed the option of a barbecue with a blower. A small fan is used as an air blower, which can be found in old computers, music centers and so on. According to the author, the design is quite simple and does not require any special skills and materials for assembly.
To fry meat on such a barbecue will now be a real pleasure, since the forced supply of air will contribute to the rapid ignition of coals, as well as their more intense burning.
Materials and tools:
- a fan (the author used it from a computer system unit);
- two large steel bowls;
- a pipe segment 30 cm long and 10 cm in diameter;
- barbecue grill;
- a piece of a thin metal mesh;
- barbecue rack;
- steel handle;
- circular saw for metal processing;
- welding machine;
- and of course protective gloves and goggles.
Barbecue making process:
Step one. Making a barbecue pipe
You need to take a circular saw and cut the pipe so that it fits under the bowl. The pipe should fit to the bowl, repeating its shape, there should not be too large gaps. Also at this stage, you can grab the pipe to the bowl by welding.
Step Two Weld the pipe to the bowl
Now the pipe needs to be welded to the bowl. There is one caveat here, during the cooking process, you should try to burn the metal of the bowl by welding in the center of the pipe. Thus, a finished hole is formed. In principle, it’s easier to do this, weld a pipe, and then drill a series of holes in the bowl.
After the pipe is welded, an already finished whole construction will be obtained. Now you can proceed to the next stage of assembly.
Step Three Barbecue net installation
Now you need to take a piece of barbecue net and cut it in such a way that it fits perfectly in shape to the bowl. Excess edges need to be trimmed, otherwise in the process of frying it will be possible to catch on their sleeves or injure themselves.The stack should be too small, it should not fall through, but lie on the bowl.
Step Four Fan installation
The fan is installed on the back of the pipe, while it goes without saying that it should work by blowing. You can determine how to install the fan at the corners of its blades. Well, or you can just turn on the fan and feel in which direction it is blowing. To fix the paper, the author used sandpaper, here it acts as a sealant and holds the structure quite reliably.
Step Five Installation of a protective grid.
From the side of the bowl, a protective mesh must be installed on the pipe, it will not allow coal and ash to fall through the pipe. To do this, take a mesh of steel thin wire and bend so that it is inserted into the pipe. No additional fixation options are provided.
Also at this stage you can weld the handle. It is mounted on the lower outside of the bowl.
Step Six Assembly assembly
Now the barbecue can be collected. You need to take the rack and install a metal bowl on it. Now you can pour coal into the bowl, install a grill for frying meat, and cover it with a lid. For the fan to start working, it must be connected to power. Typically, such fans are powered by 12V DC. If the fan did not start the first time it is connected, you may just need to change the polarity.
That's all, now the barbecue is ready. It remains only to put the meat in it, sprinkle with all the necessary seasonings and wait for a pleasant aroma, indicating the readiness of the meat.
