Even the tanks were with a gas generator
And inspired by the example of past years, collecting information, drawings, old photos of cars with a gas generator bit by bit, he began to fulfill the cherished idea. In the beginning, the author gives a brief explanation of what a gas generator is, its principle of operation, drawings and sketches.
The gas generator is a unit for converting solid fuel into combustible gas by means of pyrolysis, into a common moonshine still, the principle of operation is the same. This unit consists of a grate of a radiator for cooling fine and coarse filters.
Instruments which the author needed to work was: a welding machine, a grinder, a set of keys, a hammer, wire cutters, electrodes, a drill.
Materials: used propane cylinder, old fire extinguisher, radiator, old paint buckets, fittings, corners, metal tubes. Everything was taken almost from the landfill and from the metal collection point, an old rusty one, but in the photo an example of a Finnish car, all the details are made of stainless steel and are made in the factory
The author’s first step is to prepare a loading hopper for firewood. He uses a gas bottle.
Next, the grinder cuts off the upper and lower parts as in the photo
After that, everything is sanded to avoid scratches and cuts.
Then, the author cut out the lid for the hopper and the bottom for grates from thick metal, since the temperature in the combustion zone is high
A cord made of asbestos is attached to the lid on the inside, since the temperature is decent
The author makes a burning zone at the bottom of the cylinder, cut and inserted a grate for the combustion zone, drilled holes for supplying air to the combustion zone
The next step is a coarse filter cyclone from a fire extinguisher cut off and overcooked; the upper part is a welded metal tube
Then the radiator for gas cooling, the author took a conventional radiator from a heating battery, its dimensions are very suitable for smooth smooth gas cooling
And the last stage of the fine filter consists of two old buckets of claydite mineral wool paint in the upper part of the cotton wool at the bottom of the pebble
Everything is assembled and here we have a miracle unit on wood
